Adorably kawaii usb owl.

Have an adorable usb owl to look after your computer when you are away. Well, not really. But they are… cute. If you guessed that it is from Japan, you have guessed it right.

4 colours to choose from or to collect.  White grey, brown and pink. Plug one up your usb port and see it blinks and moves its head from side to side. Awww… Super Kawaii. You may either perch it up your monitor or just leave it on the stump that came with it and set it up on your table.

Push a small button behind the owl to get a different mood or action. 3 moods altogether. Active, mellow or sleeping.

Bop-along with the Bop-a-Lots.

As a parent, I constantly look around for toys, games and even DVDs that are not only fun, but also would help my child learn new things. I am sure any concern parent would do the same.

There are many educational toys and dvds available, but a parent would definitely would want the best for the child. Here is one of the best educational children’s dvd that you might want to get for young one, “Bop-along with the Bop-a-Lots” . This DVD has gained the honour of being Parenting Magazine “DVD of the Year!”.

I have previewed some of the video clips which are available at their official website : bopalots.com. I find them quite good. We all know that children love songs and musics. The bop-a-lots is a dvd with computer animated characters that will dance to popular children songs. Now the interesting part is, they would play the children song in its original form and then play it in different styles. Minuet, celtic, mariachi, rockabilly, asian and much more. So this way, as they say, “it would help your child learn how to think, not what to think. That’s better thinking”. I suppose it would be good training for your child to “think outside the box”.

Digital Piggy Bank.

When I was a child I had a coin box where I collect left over coins from my daily school allowance. I was a money saver and still am. :) I recall myself counting my coins like Abenezzer Scrooge every time I wanted to know how much I had in the coin box. Strange enough, I found that the money kept decreasing in small amounts everytime I counted them… hmmm.

Would be great though if I had this digital piggy bank that keep tracks the amount of coins you have put it in.

Piggy bank counts and keeps track of spare change for you! Not your typical “piggy” - electronic slot and LCD screen automatically track and display your total savings. Twist-off lid for bulk deposits and withdrawals. Features count-up/count-down controls to keep total accurate. Great for teaching kids to add and save money. Requires two AAA batteries (not included). Plastic, 5 x 6 x 7″.

Imagine it as a countdown clock for you to be able to buy that new “something” that you are saving for. Wonderful product to aid you in teaching young children all about saving money don’t you think?

The cute digital piggy bank is selling for $29.98 at taylorgifts.com.

Email address hijacker.

Sometime ago, I posted an “offtopic” post regarding my email being hijacked. I had 3000 over “undelivereable” mails in my webmail mailbox. When I saw that, I was baffled. No way I could have sent that many emails in just a few days. I took the pain of deleting all those “rubbish” and contacted my hosting provider. I was afraid that my webmail account might have been hacked. Turned out it wasn’t.Thank goodness. I still do get these unwanted emails now, but at least not bombarded with thousands in a few days.

Only today I read about this “undeliverable” spam emails at privacycouncil.org. Turned out, this thing happens rather frequent, and to many people. Legitimate email addresses getting hijacked by spammers to send their spam emails. Mine included. This kind of spamming is called backscatter spam. I would never have realized this if I have not found the article there.

Even though now I feel relieved that I am not alone in this, and my webmail is not hacked, I still despise the thought that my email address is being used by some “buffoons” to spam peoples’ inboxes. They even use my email address to make fake purchases on ebay! Can you believe it?

I saw an interesting offer at the Privacy Council website. For $9.00 they can help to wipe out your contact details from all major mailing lists. Perhaps this will help protect your email address from being manipulated by spammers. Save you time from having to deal with this sort of annoyance.
