Wind up flashlights.

In times of economical distress such as the one that we are facing at the moment, it is wise to try to save energy as much as we can. Not only because for the purpose of going green, but also to save cash a bit here and there. Believe me once you have tried it, you will get addicted to it.
We tried using some energy saving light bulbs a few months back. The first month we saw a decrease on the electricity bill, so we changed all the bulbs to energy saving ones. Now we are very much happy about the electricity bill. We also only use rechargeable batteries. They are slightly more expensive than an ordinary battery, but in the long term, you save more. Yet we are still looking for more ways to save.
When I saw the wind up flashlight, I really thought it a wonderful piece of invention.
It is powered by a NiMH battery pack that you can recharge. To recharge the batteries, you only need to wind the crank either clockwise or counter clockwise. Wind it up as much as you want and when ever you want.
The beam can reach as far as 55 yards. Who would have thought any kind of led lighting can be that good.
More over it has 3 beam settings. Energy saving, full power and flash (for signaling).
