Sometime ago, I posted an “offtopic” post regarding my email being hijacked. I had 3000 over “undelivereable” mails in my webmail mailbox. When I saw that, I was baffled. No way I could have sent that many emails in just a few days. I took the pain of deleting all those “rubbish” and contacted my hosting provider. I was afraid that my webmail account might have been hacked. Turned out it wasn’t.Thank goodness. I still do get these unwanted emails now, but at least not bombarded with thousands in a few days.
Only today I read about this “undeliverable” spam emails at privacycouncil.org. Turned out, this thing happens rather frequent, and to many people. Legitimate email addresses getting hijacked by spammers to send their spam emails. Mine included. This kind of spamming is called backscatter spam. I would never have realized this if I have not found the article there.
Even though now I feel relieved that I am not alone in this, and my webmail is not hacked, I still despise the thought that my email address is being used by some “buffoons” to spam peoples’ inboxes. They even use my email address to make fake purchases on ebay! Can you believe it?

I saw an interesting offer at theĀ Privacy Council website. For $9.00 they can help to wipe out your contact details from all major mailing lists. Perhaps this will help protect your email address from being manipulated by spammers. Save you time from having to deal with this sort of annoyance.

These past few weeks I just notice that I have a frequent visitor, who would stay for hours on my blog. That visitor is from mountain view. As I know, google servers are there? It can be their googlebot doing their crawl. But I know how a googlebot would appear in my statcounter.
But this one came in to my blog by googling some keywords.

Can googlebots do a search? Or what?

I am back online.
We have moved to our new apartment. So far I like the place. Still new, and many things seem a little awkward for us, but we are managing fairly well.
Still have plenty of things to do in the apartment. Install the shelves. Buy a new furniture or two more. Hopefully we will settle down soon.

I’m moving house. No not my hosting (my hosting has been great). I’m moving to another apartment. Tomorrow, I will be sending the small things over to the new place. It’s only some blocks away. Day after tomorrow, the movers would come to take the bigger things.
The new place has no internet connection yet. So I am not sure when I will start blogging again. Though I hope it won’t be long till we can get another connection set up.
I am feeling a little sad. Not that I am so attached to this place. Only been here for a year. But still not a great feeling to leave what you are familiar to. I am just hoping that the new place will be better. So far, it is better. Bigger space, newly renovated, and I like the brightness of the place. This apartment is somewhat dark, being on the second floor, we don’t get much sunlight. Anyway, I just want this to end quickly, so we can start settling down quickly too.
Okay then. This will be the last post that I will be doing from this apartment. Hope to get internet connection by next week. Feeling a little depressed now, so going to browse more reviews for my dell 1525 laptop and also some cool looking Guess watches. The feeling of watching something that you are going to buy soon is equally as therapeutic as buying it.
Bye bye for now.

I haven’t checked my webmail under this domain for sometime. Then yesterday I went to check my mails when I saw that my inbox was full of emails. Return emails. How many? 3000 over. I checked the sender. It was from… “differentnames”@cutenessapproved.com. Boy I was fuming then. Not to mention worried too. I contacted my hosting provider. Took time to delete all the darn 3000 over emails. It was spam of course. It’s the same thing like getting my gmail email account sending myself a spam mail selling viagra. LOL. Yes I did saw my own email address with that subject on in my gmail spam box. Crazy.
Now, my email under this domain is blocked from receiving and sending emails. Gosh… I’m peeved. My hosting provider asked me to check something, which I will do. Hopefully this kind of thing won’t happen again.
