Teach your child about food the fun way.

These day, learning about the things around us has been made a lot more fun than what I remember. Why is that so? Because there areĀ  many fun, educational toys in the market. My soon to be 3 year old loves to come along while I am preparing food in the kitchen to ask me about the ingredients. It is okay actually that she asks me. But my only problem when I had to refuse from allowing her to help me with the chopping and the stirring.

Of course you can find plenty of fake, plastic toy food, like plastic bananas, plastic sausage and such, but they are just too unrealistic. For example they cannot cut them up just like how mommy does. However, there is are toy food that your child can cut up and join them back up together.

Melissa and Doug cutting food box. The pieces are made of wood and attached together with velcro. So that why once the children have chopped them up, they can stick them back together and play all over again.

There are other sets to collect.

So these are few of Melissa and Doug’s collection. You may collect them all and create a fun kitchen for your kids to play in. :)

Monopoly - Las vegas edition.

Don’t we all love a game of monopoly once in a while? Can be a pretty long and slow game, but still lots of fun, especially when you are on the winning side. :P

If you love monopoly, looking for a new set or simply collecting all the various editions they have, Monopoly Las Vegas edition is a must have. Now is the chance for you to own houses and las vegas hotels. Even though, perhaps never in your reality to have real ones, yet it’s a good feeling to pretend as if you own properties in Las vegas. Cheaper too. ;)

Currently selling at $29.95 at Amazon.com. :)

Little wooden village and farm.

Sometimes, we need to go back to traditional toys when it comes to developing imagination of a child. Kids these days are very lucky to have more cool toy choices. Not only they get to play with cool toy gadgets that somehow resemble the cool gadgets adults uses, they also can play the traditional toys if they want to.

I browse Amazon.co.uk a lot for educational toys. Usually the wooden ones are great because they are durable, cheap and long lasting. Long lasting here means, it might even last several generations if you take good care of them.

I found this Little wooden village in a bag on Amazon.co.uk sold by several sellers, but somehow I believe it is originally from Toypost. You can check out their website at Toypost.co.uk and order there if you want.

The wooden village, as you can see, consists of wooden houses, towers, walls, people, animals and vehicles. All in all, they have about 45 pieces. Simple and cute, yet can occupy an imaginative child for hours.

Average size of these cute things, maybe ranging from 3 cm to 8cm. So, they are small, they may not be suitable for children younger than 3. Price range from $7-8. Quite cheap.

And, if your child loves this wooden village, you might want to add into the collection a wooden farm.

Price range from $6-$7. Depends on where you buy them.
