Sims 3 Pets.

I have been a Sims game fan for years – from the first to the 3rd one. I just love how you can let your imagination run wild with this game. From simple conversation, to hanging out and jamming with sim friends at a nightclub, shop for plus size maternity clothes, become a business owner etc. So you can imagine how excited I was to hear about Sims 3 pets. It was released in October last year but I just tried it out not too long ago. All I can say is, it is simply awesome! At last, my single Sims won’t have to feel lonely when they can have a pet cat or a pet dog to greet them after work everyday. I just love this game!

Funny pen holders.

Toys these days

As a child, I did not have many toys. Growing up in the 80′s, although there were many toys back then, I don’t even remember having toys.Instead we would turn chairs with casters into racing cars, make match box houses or simply play games that do not require any toys. The irony is, as an adult, I see more toys every day than I did as a kid hence all the pictures I took about toys. I just notice this when I was going through the folders of the pictures I took the past few weeks.

Canon A3200 is pictures.

I’ve been having the Canon A3200 is for nearly a month now. A small, compact camera that I carry in my bag everyday to work, to shop for groceries, or even out for dinner. Below are a few sample pictures I took using the camera.

The only qualm I have about the camera is that it processes a little slow. It can be because of the SD card that I’m using which is a 4gb class 4. Or it can be the processor itself. In case if you are wondering what mp I used for the pictures, I usually use lest than 14 Megapixels because I know there is not much point to have such huge Megapixels unless if I’m going to print them out onto a huge photopaper.

Anyway, though I am not too happy about the slowness sometimes but this isn’t such a huge problem for me since I have my prosumer Lumix camera if I want to take pictures of important events. For daily picture taking, this camera is good enough. So thank you to my other half for getting this camera for Christmas. Well, now that his birthday is coming soon this end of January,I should be looking out for potential gifts for him. Hopefully I’d be able to find something as nice as this camera.

I posted about getting the Lumix DMC LS5 sometime ago. A pretty pink, powered with 2 AA batteries camera. With all the nice feature advertised that made me decide to buy it – 14 MP, Optical stabilization, 2.7″ LCD screen and HD video - I finally had to send it back as soon as the shop opens.

I do not know whether it is that particular camera or all Lumix LS5 is the same. I have a Lumix fz28 and very satisfied with it so I was sure that this Lumix would be the same (well, a little less quality as it is a way cheaper camera than the fz28). However, what a let down. The image is average at best and the interesting thing is, it could not focus close up well. What my Samsung Gio phone camera could do it could not! How can a phone camera be better at focusing? This is a point and shoot camera, so even set on Auto it should be able to take simple pictures nicely. Well at least better than a phone camera. That is all I expected it to do.

So that was the short lived relationship I had with the camera. Right after the 28 trial picture I took, I packed it and sent it back to Mediamarkt. Good thing that it has a “2 weeks no quibble” policy. They took it right away and asked whether I would like to exchange with something else. Which I did.

I took the Canon A3200 is. I had the Canon A400 and loved it ( I still have it now after 8 years). I have been using the A3200 for two days now and loving it so far. Will post up some picture soon.

Panasonic DMC L5.

Just got another camera for Christmas – Lumix DMC L5. My second Lumix. The first one being the FZ28 (which is a very good camera). However, I need another one small enough to carry in my purse. So I think this would be good enough. Other than the specs stated down below, what I like about the camera so far is the colour. It’s pink! Other than that, is the uploading directly to Facebook and Youtube feature. That would save a lot of time indeed. These days not only one needs a good application for video download from youtube, but one that directly upload to youtube would be a great feature. Well at least for a youtuber who likes to upload videos like myself.

I will try to give a better review later on, once I get to use the camera a bit longer.

Hajimete macaroon maker.

While looking at the classic racing car toys with raceways, I came across this cute ‘Hajimete macaroon maker’ with ‘Hajimete’ meaning ‘first’ in Japanese, this macaroon maker is suitable for little children (and adults too ) to learn make cute edible macaroons.

The macaroon maker set includes a mixing bowl, guide sheets (with templates), spoon, scraper, and 2 piping bags. However being a Japanese product the instruction guide is in Japanese too.

They look all so cute and pretty, but I just wonder how it would taste.

Vtech slide & talk smartphone.

Although I am generally an early Christmas gift shopper, there are things that I like to buy the last minute. Like gifts for the kids so that to lower the risk of they finding out what I got for them – in case they found out where I hid the gifts. The internet can help find just about anything, be it Legacy System Operator Jobs or the rarest car part that aren’t sold in your local town anymore. But most of all I really appreciate the less headache and leg walk I have to do when it comes to gift shopping. After scouring the internet just for a few minutes I decided to get one of this for my 3 year old nephew.

The vtech slide & talk phone. A smartphone toy that not only good for pretend games but also teaches letters, numbers, counting, and alphabetical order. It has a phone book that contains 4 different friends whom the child can call or text. And to add to the fun there will also be suprise calls from silly characters.

I think it would be a great gift for toddlers who would like to have his/her very own smartphone like mommy’s and daddy’s.

Backup solar ipod/iphone charger.

Where ever I go I have 2-3 cable of chargers in my bag for the ‘just in case’ moments when I need to charge my phone and ipod. Well as long as I am near to a power source that is. Touch screen gloves.

After getting the Ipod and now a new touch screen phone, the touch screen gloves seems to be the next thing on the list of must have for touch screen gadget owners who live in a cold climate. I sure hate to take off my gloves when using my Ipod or phone. With the touch screen gloves, I won’t have to bare my digits to the freezing cold anymore.

With more and more people using touch screen phone these days, I’m rather surprise that it is not sold just about everywhere where they sell gloves.

If you are like me, who thinks practical gifts is the way to go – be it a pen to even rv insurance) you would think that such gloves would make great stocking fillers this coming Christmas.
