Roughly 2 months more to Christmas and I believe many families have started to buy Christmas gifts. Especially those who has more to family members to buy for. Even for myself, I don’t really like last minute shopping.

There are many toys that we are looking forward to purchase. It’ll be a few more years before we would have to bother looking for acne skin care products for the kids. So I savour the moments when buying toys is much more a priority. :) I love buying toys for the kids.

Now,one thing that is on the consideration list to buy is Fisherprice’s iXL learning and entertainment system. Targeted for kids as young as 2 years old up to 7 years old.

Features:

  • iXL is the ultimate handheld learning tool designed for kids
  • 6 ways to play: Digital Reader, Game Player, Note Pad, Art Studio, MP3 Player and Photo Viewer
  • Comes with pre-loaded software for the various applications
  • Opens like a book, exposing a 3.5″ TFT QVGA color screen
  • Additional features include: built in speaker, action button, tethered stylus, headphone jack, SD memory card slot, and built-in memory
  • I think it looks like the very bulky version of NDS. I believe that is for the little hands to easily hold and carry it around without dropping it.

There are other softwares that you can buy for the iXL system – Disney toy story, Disney princes, Disney Handy manny, to name a few. And it comes in blue or pink.

    Love pearl in a can.

A birthday of a special someone is around the corner. Though I haven’t bought any presents yet, but I’ve always been thinking of something  uniquely different for a change. I even thought of getting a term life insurance policy, but don’t think that she is old enough to appreciate the importance of it all. :) For now, something cute and simple. Perhaps a pearl in a can will bring a smile to her face.

The pearl oyster in the can ready to be opened.

What will you find in the oyster??

There are 4 colours – white, cream, peach and purple. Which one you’ll get? It will be a surprise. :)

Take the pearl out of the shell and place it in a silver cage locket.

I don’t know what you think… but I think it’s pretty neat. Anyway, find out more at orientalpearls.net.

Diecast Toys Tips for New Collectors

One of the reasons that make the collection of diecast toys so much fun is the fact that there is a multitude of merchandise to choose from. Of course, while this is certainly a benefit, it can also be a problem for those who are new to this hobby and are not quite sure what they should consider when making their selections.

Since this is often the case, the following are some basic tips you may find helpful if collecting diecast toys is of interest to you.

Specialize – It helps to know what you want, and this can be achieved through the process of elimination by determining what interests you and what doesn’t. Find out what type of models (i.e. diecast trucks, cars, planes, etc.) you like, and then sharpen your focus even more. This can be accomplished by focusing on a certain maker of toys, size, year, or a themed collection.

Join a collectors club or forum – Other diecast toy enthusiasts can share their experience and help you learn about the different terminology, abbreviations, and facts related to die cast collecting, which can be very helpful when it comes to finding, purchasing, displaying, preserving, and knowing how to get the most money for models you intend to sell.

Familiarize yourself with cost – It’s important to know how much models are worth because many of these items can be incredibly valuable based on how rare and unique they are. It’s a good idea to research online and attend diecast shows when you have an opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence in this matter.

Keep in mind, there are no rules when it comes to diecast toys collections if your intentions are for your own personal enjoyment. However, if you have any intention of catching the interest of serious collectors with your models, you need a die cast education.

    Anniversary milestone.

It will be our 6th wedding anniversary this coming month. We do sometimes give each other gifts for our wedding anniversary. For this year, maybe I’d buy my partner something small. As they say it is not the value or the size of a gift that matters. But the thought matters most. :)

Here’s a list of gift ideas according to anniversary milestone. Well, it doesn’t give a specific gift idea, but it gives a rough idea of what to get.

For us, seems like we have a choice of getting something made of iron or wood for this year. :) Well, I would even give myself  an anniversary gift as well. A sexy looking apple bottom jeans perhaps?? :)

    Amigurumi items.

I heard before a saying that goes like this, “if you can imagine it, you can create it”. I suppose, something that many creative people would agree. When I look at these amigurumi’s (crochet stuff toys) I believe it even more. :)

    Food amigurumi

    Hair dryer amigurumi

    Coffee grinder.

    Toaster.

    Phone holder.

They are made by an etsy seller, skymagenta. Unfortunately, she doesn’t sell these, but only the patterns. It’s just amazing what creative people can create with simple yarn and crochet hook. :) Perhaps if I look more I would even find a crochet cash register complete with crochet credit card processing system. :D Would be real cute I’m sure.
