I am glad that I am one of the many people who love to shop online. Not only because it is time saving and convenient, you help the environment a little too.
Using data supplied by Buy.com, Internet Superstore, and also according to their previous studies, the Carnegie Mellon University’s Green Design Institute had come up with an interesting finding about how buying through buy.com can reduce carbon dioxide emission. To summarize the Green Study finding, when people buy things at the conventional retail store, many would drive to the store. Thus resulting in more carbon dioxide emission.
Whereas, buying things through buy.com takes 35 percent less energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. This is due to the rather systematic and streamlined route to buyers’ homes using a energy efficient delivery truck.

Ever wonder why babies (in general) are cute? We’d coo, and ‘aww’ over them, saying, “isn’t she/he cute??”. Well, they are cute for a reason you know. It’s in the genes for survival. So that we’d pick them up and care for them. Interesting isn’t it?

Amazing thing is, the chubbier the baby the cuter we feel the baby is. Too bad it isn’t the same case with adults though. If not we all wouldn’t have to bother about working out, dieting, taking diet pills, just to stay slim eh?
While browsing the Outer Banks rentals website, I had the urge to look for portable homes.
I saw a kid’s program “Charlie Chalk” some years ago. Charlie the clown lives in a small tiny portable house which I thought quite cute. What do you know, there are real life “Charlie Chalk” homes.
Below is one of them. A creation of Jay Shafer – the owner of Tumblewoods, tiny homes building company.

Just like telephone and the internet, nowadays even web cameras have become a must for those who are using the internet to stay connected with friends and families from far off places. When chatting or talking through the internet, the other person seems a lot more real when you can see him or her on their web cams.
Before I continue, check out these cute web cameras.
Each of these cute web cams are sold below $10 online. It shows not only your kids get something nice and cute to decorate their desktops, but they also can have a lot of fun using a web cam for cheap. Word of caution to parents. Web cams can be a dangerous thing for under aged children when used unsupervised since we do not know what sort of people they will be chatting with.
However, if used with supervision there are advantages for kids to use web cams. Not only web cameras can be used to get connected and stay connected with family and friends but they are great for educational purpose as well.
Now how is that? Using web video conferencing services, long distance learning can be much more effective compared to just using voice or even text chat conferencing. Imagine your kids can attend school from anywhere around the world as long as they have a computer, a web camera and a good internet connection.
Cool dream, but I don’t think that idea is too far off.
The partner’s birthday is somewhere towards the end of this month. Therefore I need to get another gift for him. He got a new slim keyboard and a pedometer – which I’m glad he likes. So what gift should I get him?
The last time I got him a watch was 5 years ago. He has been wearing the same watch ever since. I suppose it is about time I get him another one – one of Torgoen watches collection.
Some people would like to give a watch as gift because of it’s practicality or usefulness and some would like to give it because of the meaning.
I’ve heard two versions of the meaning of giving a watch as gift depending what culture the person on the receiving end comes from. According to the Chinese I was told that giving a clock or watch on a birthday is like cursing the person of short life.
But another version I’ve heard is you meant to wish the person a long life. Giving a gift of time.
I am not so much a superstitious person. I’d like to think I give him a watch for the good reasons. My true intention, however, is because I’d like him to have a different watch to wear on occasions.
