Now that Halloween is over, we have Christmas to look forward to. To be honest, I am pretty excited already. There’s a list of things that is under consideration but people say sometimes the closer it is to Christmas, the better the bargain would be. So, I’m still keeping my eyes open for some items. Hoping to get a good deal.
There are websites that I like to visit once a week – now every other day – to look for a good deal. One of my favourites is buy.com. Their Christmas deal list is already up, but the weekly deal isn’t bad either. There’s the Fantom GreenDrive Pro 2TB eSATA external hard drive which I think, at $99, is quite a good deal. Someone I know, would love to get that as a present.
Well, looking forward to the real Christmas shopping. Buying, packing and giving presents are equally as fun as receiving them.
They say, ‘First love cuts the deepest’. Perhaps it is true for pets as well? My first ever pet or pets are two terrapin turtles – Henny (Henrietta) and Herbie. I got them from the neighbour. When I first got them they were no bigger than my palm. Very, very cute.
As small terrapins they were easy to take care and they don’t each much.(They don’t try to snap your finger off either) I gave them some turtle pellets everyday. But they grow eventually until they could not fit in their small aquarium or tank any longer. I wish I had a nice pond, complete with decorations, pond plants and all, but we didn’t have the space. So they ended up in a big basin behind the house.
When I left for college, the responsibility to care for them became my mom’s (the fate of parents when their kids leave the house or got bored of the pets. :p). However, one unfortunate rainy day, my turtles escaped and got lost forever (went into the nearby drain). That was what I was told at least because I was away at that time.
To be frank, I still feel a bit of guilt that they dissappeared. I do hope that nothing bad happened to Henny and Herbie and that they found happiness or a better place to stay.
Haven’t been able to blog much here past few weeks. On holiday mood. Not on vacation to somewhere exotic, but just visiting the places that we haven’t been to nearby. However, we will be going out of town for a few days. Spending time in a village and go exploring old castle ruins around the vicinity. Exciting!!
Looking forward to the long drive, counting the milestones and the convex mirrors that we see by the roadside with my little girl.
So I finally took the plunge and ordered a pair of glasses from Zenni opticals. That is after watching video reviews and reading reviews after reviews about their eyeglasses and services. (I love reading reviews and information about products be it for gadgets like Ipod touch or even human growth hormone side effects) I ordered it on the 26th of last month and my glasses was despatched on the 5th of this month and it started on its journey to me yesterday.
I’m waiting for my glasses with all the hopes that it will reach me safely and would work well.
I never owned any Apple products. When I was looking for my media player a year or so ago, I did consider to get an Ipod. But I decided against it because I read about how hard it is to convert and upload the medias onto the player.
Now, it all started when I wanted to buy a Japanese-English electronic dictionary. Those whom I asked opinions from about what type of electronic dictionary I should get, they all said I should wait because most electronic dictionaries are made for native speakers and not for beginners or mid level learners. But quite a few of them suggested I get and Ipod touch or an Iphone and get a dictionary application that is quite good.
After watching this video of a few Japanese learning applications for Iphone and Ipod touch, I am sold.
I thought of getting one next month, but since there are rumours that Generation 4 may come out in September, with a camera too, so I decided to wait a bit. Feels like a pretty long wait.. So while waiting, I’m just looking around for the accessories that I may buy together with it.Perhaps will get a designer diamonds ipod casing. I do love to plan ahead…
